Some Exciting News, and what's next for Clever Supply Co.

Hey there, it's been a while, and I thought it was time to share some exciting news about what is next for the brand!
Over the course of 2020, we saw a lot of growth which was incredible and strange considering we were in the midst of a pandemic. Then, in October we entered into a busy holiday season and it became clear that the business was growing more rapidly. I ended up bringing my wife, Megan, on to help me with production around that time. Fast forward to March of this year, and we’ve continued to see growth that required us to think through scaling more seriously. We decided to bring on some more hired help for our hand-stitching this year, but honestly it wasn't enough. You see, over the years, I have been always pursuing Clever Supply Co as a side-hustle of sorts while managing a day job. It had been a dream of mine to take it full-time some day, but on paper I wasn’t sure if we’d make it work to support our family of four. Last month my wife and I decided it was time to move on from the day job, and lean in fully to building Clever Supply Co!
So why am I sharing all this? Well, you are 100% to thank for this, when I launched this little Kickstarter a few years ago it was the beginning of getting to this point! This campaign is when we decided that our WHY is to serve photographers as they do the important work of documenting the full spectrum of life. This mission has driven our decisions on how we've built this brand, and you have played a key part in helping us figure that out, thank you!
Another reason why I share this is I hope that it is encouraging for any other side-hustlers out there. Patience and hard work (and even more patience at times) do lead to good things. I recognize not everyone’s story will go like this, but hopefully it’s an encouragement that the long game does pay off, especially when you are in it for the journey and not just the end result.
So what's next for the brand? Well, we’re focusing on getting on top of production, and cutting down our wait times, but I’m also working hard to release a new Home & Office collection of goods. Up until this point, we’ve released products for while you are out on the field shooting, but the job of a photographer doesn’t end there. A lot of work takes place at your desk behind a computer, and we’d like to introduce some products with that process in mind.
In the meantime, I did release a few other products like an Adjustable Anchor Strap, and a Limited Release wallet for photographers (if we’re sold out on the wallets I do have plans for another batch next month).
